Toolbar problem and black screen with message toolbar has a red X as one of the icons

My toobar has a red X on it. I thought it was from Norton Antivirus, but when clicked, it is a hyperlink to AVG. It also keeps bringing up a little message saying that "My computer is infected. Use antivirus software." It doesn't go away.
Also, I HAD a blue screen with a warning. Now, it's black and says I'm "In Danger!" Please help.
