Hey,

 

Jjust wondering, (because I dont know much about this) whats the deal with RGB ram?  Like do you have to have a motherboard that is compatible for this type of RGB to work?  Or can you just put the ram in and it lights up?  Never used ram like that before and nor has my mates.

It depends on what you mean by "will it work"

 

MBs that are labelled as having RGB features commonly means that they have one or more RGB headers to which you can connect such things as RGB strip lights for the computer chassis etc.

 

If not already aware RGB = Red - Green and Blue and RGB RAM should work in any DDR4 MB that has the required voltage going to the memory slots, some MBs have software for controlling the RGB behaviour, some don`t and so the colours just cycle through red, green and blue.

Ok cool thanks, I know mine mobo has an RGB header too.

Thank you, and what are those little cables called that go from the mother board for the RGB?  Because the one that I got with my fans is too fat to connect to it.
