Keyboard & trackpad not working after installing & uninstallin

ubuntu synaptics

I don't have them. If I were to order them online, they would take a few days to arrive. And there are no shops selling them where I live. Go to the full post »

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 on a Lenovo Thinkpad E-430. Since my mouse was jumping all over the place, I gave this command.

sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

After rebooting, my keyboard wasn't working. So I turned the on-screen keyboard on and removed synaptics.

sudo apt remove xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

After rebooting, now the trackpad/mouse is also not working. This makes my computer unusable. How can I recover it?

Thank you in advance.

Hello Janakil,

First an foremost I'm not a Linux person but I can offer this only..

Have you tried using external keyboard and mouse to recover from this issue?
