I have received a Packard Bell 1200 Diamond Plus scanner a a present.

My question is, I want to transfer my old photo and slides to my PC. The resolution is 600 x 1200. Should I upgrade to a higher resolution. Will I get better results with a better ? scanner.

Any advise welcomed.

Thanks,
Norm

You might want to try downloading better Twain drivers from the company website. Often the drivers included with scanners are fancy looking and easy to use, but don't give the most flexibility or overall performance.

Thank you for your reply. I will have a look at the PB site for drivers.

Is the 600 x 1200 resolution OK for my purpose ie photos and Slides?

well it depends, if you just want ok copies for viewing sometimes then that will just do, but if you want to print from them then you will need one with at least something like this Scanner

Thanks for the reply. I think I will have to look at the less impressive Epson 2480 for my needs.
