I have an older Pandigital Photo Frame that i put pictures on years ago - they are now on  the internal  drive. Is there any way to retrieve the pictures to a PC? There are two USB ports -one labeled Host and other Micro. I have hooked them both up to my PC and Windows does not recognize the device using either port.

Thanks in advance for any info

Gday.

You can create backup copies of your pictures for safekeeping. Just copy them from your digital frame to your computer.
You should back up files:

On a regular basis to safeguard pictures that are precious to you
Using an optional accessory USB cable U-5A, connect your frame to the computer. For details, see your Extended User Guide.
The frame appears as a drive on your computer desktop.
*if it does not appear, open disc management and it should be there as a drive)
On your computer, drag and drop JPG files (your pictures) or folders from the frame to a meaningful place on your computer< I would create a new folder.
The pictures are copied to your computer.
NOTE: Do not copy the folder called "dbbd." (The dbbd folder is created on your frame after a firmware upgrade.)
When you're finished copying, turn off the frame.
Disconnect the USB cable, then turn on the frame.

Sorry I didn't get back to  you - I had emergency Gall bladder surgery.

I tried  what you told me to do - my PC didn't recognize the picture frame. I checked both file explored and disk management and nothing there. I have a Dell PC and am using Windows10. If I could find a ord with a USB adaptor on one end, do you think it would show up then? I used the cord that came with it - USB on one end and a mini adapter on the other

Not a problem.   I hope you have fully recovered.

It possible that the picture frame software needs to installed on the PC before it can be recognised.

Do you have the original CD containing the software?

On the linked site, see if your model is listed.   > http://camera.manual...oduct_list.html

I have the original User Guide. It doesn't list a CD in the "package included" list. I went to the link you provided and my model isn't listed [DPF 70-2]  It actually says "no computer needed". I don't remember ever needing to install anything.

Thanks for the update.

Please take and upload two screen shots Of device manager.

1.   Without the picture frame connected, > open device manager, > take a screenshot and save to the desktop > close device manager.

2.   Connect the picture frame, > open device manager, > take a screenshot and save to the desktop., > close device manager.

Incluse the screen shots in your next reply.
