I keep getting a red screen labeled "Google Chrome critical error"  It says...security system has detected the threatening attempt to gain access to your bank logins and related data...  It advises Contact Microsoft Support  1-888-273-1547.  Is this a scam???  The only way to get the red screen to go away is to force the computer off and restart.  If this is a scam, how do I get rid of it?

Thank you,

David

It's a scam.  You hit an infected website.  Your system is not infected.  Some of the advice on this site:

https://answers.micr...a4-eb954cf83e36

will apply even tho you are using Chrome & not Edge.
