Has anyone read the Jeffery Deaver book "The Blue Nowhere"? Centers on Silicon Valley hackers, program writers and how one of them uses it to play MUD games, but eventually comes to blur the line between reality and fantasy world and begins a serial murder spree. Police spring a talented hacker out of prison to try to catch the perp.
