Would appreciate it if someone would confirm or correct the following terms:

  • The blank screen with only a bunch of ordered icons of selected apps is the DESKTOP
  • The screen with an alphabetically ordered listing of all apps on the left; and tiles of selected apps on the right is the START screen
  •  The bar along the bottom of the screen is the TASK bar

How can I  place a copy of an icon on the START screen onto the TASK bar?

What shortcut key(s) allow me to switch from the START screen to the DESKTOP?

 Thanks.   batpark

You are correct on those terms.

Go to the start screen and locate the app you want. Right click on the app will give you a drop down menu. There will be a item that states "More". Click on that and there will be an option to pin to the task bar.
