Hey Guys,


I admit I am new to this part of things cause I am used to 60Hz monitors.


Now the problem that I am having I downloaded the drivers and it says that my monitor cannot be found.  I am using HDMI as well. My PC specs are down the bottom, and this is the new monitor I have this monitor here:

Gday KiwiProbie 

Turn of the monitor, > turn of the computer.

Turn on the monitor, > turn on the computer.

Click Start, > in the search box, type, Screen Resolution. > click enter.

Click on Screen Resolution in the results.

 

A window should ope and show the name of the monitor, the resolution, the aspect ratio???   If not there, please post back. 

On the right, > click 'Advanced Setting,

On the top menu of the window that opens > click the Monitor tab.

Click the down arrow at the refresh rate window and select 144 Hertz. > at the bottom, click Apply, then > click OK, then > close the window.

My screen resolution is

VX2758 Series

Desktop res 1920 x1080
Actuve signal res 1920 x 1080
refresh rate 80
Bit depth 8-bit
colour format RGB
Colour space SDR


 

It doesn't give me options to change it to 144 Hertz

You got me thinking, so I used HDMI and HDMI instead of DP to HDMI, and it worked I have 144hz.

Good to hear you resolved the isssue by changing the connection cable.   I don't know exactly why your DP to HDMi would not work, but could be the rated cable specification was not high enough to support 1080p @ 144HZ.

I didn't think of that like at all.  I dont have support for 1080p, but I do have 1920 x 1080 @144Hz and ooooo my gaming has been much better.  I see what they mean by when you go 144Hz, you can't go back to 60Hz, its never going to be the same again lol.
