I was setting the system up in my room because u like to play music and when I plugged in the aux no sound would come through the system, I tried connection both my laptop and iPad but when I played music I had no sound come through, is there a solution to why my music wont play through the aux on my theatre sound system?

I assume the DVD & Radio both have sound?

 

Looking at the manual it would appear fairly straight forward but you do need to have a 3.5 mini to RCA adapter like the one shown here:

The RCA jacks plug into the VCR Audio In jacks on the far left then you hit the VCR/Aux button on the remote.

 

I don't see any sign of a mini jack on it anywhere in the manual:

I suppose you could have a level or impedance mismatch but there is no info available on what it requires.  Most Line In devices have about 50K ohms whereas the typical laptop output is meant for headphones so 4 to 32 ohms so while a mismatch it won't load down the PC.
