It came with the refurb I bought 8 years ago. I read somewhere it was practically an obsolete program. I never used it anyway, so yesterday I deleted it. After that, when I tried to open an image like a jpg file, it opened in Photo Viewer instead MS Paint which what it was set to do previously. This was easily remedied by going to START and changing the setting there. The only question is what happened when I deleted Picasa to change the program used to view images?

If I read this correctly you most likely had Picassa as a default program to open your pictures. When you deleted it the pictures were now defaulted to what MS thought. But I would think with this scenario it would have asked you what program you wanted to use.

I had MS Paint as the default program to open graphics.
