My brother-in-law has the following problem:

for his work he successfully logs into his RDWEBACCES via the internet explorer browser. There he can download an rdp icon. and normally opening this icon would establish the RDP connection.

but instead the following error is given:

The computer cannot connect to the remote computer because firewall authentication failed because the firewall credentials are missing. Go to the firewall website that the network administrator recommends, and then try to connect again or contact the network administrator for support.

I have for him:
checked windows update, download and installed the latest updates.
firewall (default windows firewal and defender) completely disabled.
changed the public network to private network.

but I keep seeing the same error message.

I wanted to try the following:
open the blocked ports through the ISP, but I don't think it is required.

Hopefully someone can show me the way .....

Win 10 home edition 64 bit.

Download doesn't sounds right at all!

You need to click or double click (don't remember exactly) on the icon inside the browser window. If Internet Explorer is offering the download of the file then something isn't right! maybe you need to Reset Internet Explorer configuration to the defaults! https://support.micr...-reset-settings

Thanks a lot, this solved the issue.

I'm not familiar with RD webacces, now I know what to check first.

Thanks

it was one click if I'm not wrong. I tested on my laptop, then I resetted IE on his laptop and this time it worked.
