Good Morning,   Not sure if it is summer where you are, but I can tell you, it is here - 82 degree by 9 AM.

Step 1 went well - no hick ups.

 Step 2. not so good.

The last line of your script is "Start"=dword:00000002.

Copied and pasted the entire script into notepad, Ensured an extra line followed your last line of script.  When I rain it, the following warning was returned.

Cannot import c:\Users\HP Pavilion\Desktop\fix.reg: Not all data was successfully written to the registry.  Some keys are open by the system or other processes, or you have insufficient privileges to perform this operation.

Went on to step 3, as it is a report.

Morning,

Did not work same error message as yesterday.

During the steps to get to the Safe mode, Saw a notice that an update was available,  I did not run it.  Now I can't find it to tell you what is said.

I did have to change from my Bluetooth keyboard to a USB as the Safe Mode recover went to a black screen, the power and drive lights were lit.  Nothing on the screen.  Plugged in the USB keyboard,  the screen appeared, still using my Bluetooth mouse.

Yikes, I have been at this for nearly 2 hours.

The computer will not launch in Safe Mode.

I did the win icon and i

The system looked as if it was restarting.  I knew it was running really slow.

It powered off and I waited 15 minutes and it never would start.

Powered the unit back on and still the same thing and wait.

Tried Esc key Safe Mode start

Again, the machine would power off and not return

Tried the msconfig in the search box, set to safe mode and network

This time the restart was very long, but I could see there was power to the screen, and the power lamp was on.  The screen was black for nearly 5 minutes.

It eventually launched in Safe Mode.  I ran step 2 and did the restart.  I see there is power to the black screen, hopefully it will open up soon.  Otherwise, I am going to bed and hopefully it will be on in the Morning.  Here is comes.  No, I need to go back in the msconfig and reset it.  Guess it may be a later night than I wanted.

To sum up:
So you weren’t able to do the step 1 and tried to set the start up mode using the msconfig?
Then you did the step 2 and now the computer can’t restart in normal mode?
