Cardreader and TV

My LED tv is unable to read my SD CARD when I try to insert it in tv using a newly bought card reader. My Android is also unable to read it when I use cardreader but it can READ MY CARD WHEN I INSERT IT INTO PHONE'S SLOT.
Please help me out.

Try the card reader on another computer, if it does not work on that it suggests that the device is faulty and should be returned.
