Brother printer HL-2170W will not print

Have windows 10 64 bits

when computer updated in July. I was not able to print anything from my documents or online to print postage for Ebay sold items.

I contacted Microsoft for assistances. We did a manual update to my laptop. It took over two hours. I also contacted Brother"s customer Tech support. They tried to uninstall and reinstall my printer. It shows up as one of my active printers. We also tried new printer cables. Nothing is working out. The update is stating it can only read my documents with word pad?

I'm truly lost...Please someone help me... :smashcomp:
