Your computer has a number of spyware programs that we need to remove. For more info on spyware see the Spyware Tools link in my signature.

Let's start with a free program. Ad-aware.

Using Ad-aware: Open Ad-Aware and use the Check for updates now link. Download and accept the latest reference file. When finished click the Start button. When done scanning, the Abort button will change to Next. Click the Next button. Right-click in the Scanning Results window and click "Select all objects". Then click the "Next" button and confirm that you want to delete the selected entries.

When finished, Reboot your computer. Finally, reply to this post with a new HiJackThis log so we can look for any nasties that may have been missed. <_<

Hi and thanks for the advice. I have been running Ad-Aware every day, and the problems keep returning (Roings, Daily Horoscope, etc.) I read what Hijackthis had to say about several of the files, and I did delete some of them. The popups have decreased, but are still present. Here is my newest Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware from here (if you already have Ad-Aware installed, make sure that it is the latest version and always go online and update it before you run it).

Download Lavasoft's VX2 Cleaner plug-in here
http://updates.ls-se...lvx2cleaner.exe

How to use Lavasoft's VX2 Cleaner plug-in

- Close Ad-Aware 6 and Ad-Watch (if running)
- Download the free VX2 Cleaner at http://updates.ls-se...lvx2cleaner.exe
- Install the VX2 Cleaner
- Start Ad-Aware 6
- Go to "Plug-ins"
- Select the VX2 Cleaner plug-in and click "Run Plugin"
- If your computer isn't infected, click "Close".

If your computer is infected

- Select "Clean system"
- Reboot your computer
- Scan your computer with Ad-Aware
- Remove any VX2 objects detected
- Reboot your computer again
- Run a second scan to make sure the files have been removed from your computer

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. <_<

Hi and thanks once again. I attempted to download the VX2 cleaner, but it is not appearing when I run the AdAware 6 (which is the AdAware I already had). My son had already downloaded Mozilla Firefox which he uses on my computer. Please let me know how to get the plug in to appear on the Ad Aware.
Below is the latest Hijackthis. I haven't had but a few pop ups tonight. I'm sure there is something that I could still delete. I was not sure what "System 32" referred to, so I left it alone. Thanks!

You log is clear, but VX2 won't show up in a log.

Here's the instructions for using the VX2 plug-in from Ad-Aware's site:

OK - just did exactly what the directions said (which is what I tried before). When I go to Plug-ins, there is STILL nothing there. ?!?!?
