Kodak PixPro FZ53 not working correctly

I just got a new digital camera, a Kodak PixPro FZ53 and its not working correctly. It will show a blank screen most of the time I boot it up. It will be slow and lag most of the time. Anything I can do to fix this? Did I maybe get a defective camera?
