This device is showing up in DEVICES and PRINTERS with a yellow triangle indicating an error. It says that it is not working properly because Windows cannot load drivers (Code 31) and Device requires further installation.

Can anybody advise what this device does and what I should do?

It does not appear to be causing any problem!

I thought maybe download the drivers and install them but I am reluctant to do so without advise as it might do some damage..

The drivers were last updated on 19/06 which was when KB4561600 and KB4552925 were installed.

Thanks for any help.

Hello mungodaisy,

If you are not having any issues with the computer I would suggest that you create a new system restore point then find and disable the AMDA00 Interface in Device Manager.

I've done that. The device now shows as disabled and everything still seems to work fine.

Should I just leave it now? Or I could download and re-update the drivers which seem to be the same as before..

I can't find any information on what the device is for. Any idea?

Thanks.

The problem is caused by buggy software for a device/chip on the MB that is not used by every system and the last thing that you wish to do is re install the same buggy software again, we had you disable the device so Windows does not have you try install the garbage so suggest that you leave as is now.

AMDA00 Interface is part of the ASUS AI suite and has been a well documented pain in the proverbial for several years.

You are welcome  :)
