My apologies for not responding, I totally missed your response. I hope your illness has not left you with any adverse long term problems.
In the short term do you think there would be any benefit to me getting a better gfx card with my current build?
I don't believe so as your CPU is just about maxed out now with the present card; you would probably need to lower your setting to maintain reasonable fps.

Sorry for a late respond. Maybe it`s not actual alredy,but:
10600k has the same performance as 9600k. But 9600k is cheaper and Z370 MB is cheaper.
I do not recommend to buy Intel`s 10xxx series at all. At least for now.
