hello. i hope this an ok place for this question
Have new samsung smart tv with limited hdmi so was told to get a switch
Have switch with one output hdmi and then 4-5 in.
Current hook up is: Back of tv in to the cable box
Everytime I do as most suggest: Back of tv in hdmi to the back of the hdmi switch out; I loose use of the tv
I have a tv; att cable box and a magnovox dvd player/recorder trying to get all hooked up
Any help or referral to more appropriate site would be much appreciated!!

HDMI is pretty picky. Can you give me the model number of the TV and the make & model number of the HDMI switch?
