Decided to buy a WIN 10  Pro from Dell.  Bad mistake   They did not include a HDMI supported mnonitor so have to be a second one.    Turning the pc on the first time and ever since is a nightmare.  I want a totally blank screen except for the basics,   Control Pane, My computer etc?    Is there an excellent book that will show me how to eradicate everything but the basics?  Just a plain soft colored screen with icons the size I choose,   Windows 10 in WIN 7 format

You can read about the basic in Windows 10 here: https://www.thewindo...o-for-beginners

Is there anything particular you want to do?

I am taking small steps and learning some along the way.    I read a piece that hints that win10 updates can do more damage than good.   How do I tell the pc to download ONLY security updates, nothing else without my permission?   Also I would like to have more control on the size of icons and fonts but all I find are small medium and large.  Am I just missing something that would really personalize what I see.  Thanks in advance
