Im really not knowledgeable about this stuff so please bear with me.
I rigged up my desktop for the first time in a couple of years last night to start playing World of Warcraft a bit as an escape from life (18 month old kid is a joy but stressful lol).
Id like to invest (low funds, see 18 month old kid) in some small improvements to the memory, and potentially the graphics card if possible but I dont really know if its possible or what I should be looking for. I think I might have to purchase second hand stuff, and I know that by todays standards the stuff I get will probably not be that great at performing but any improvement to my gaming experience would be worth it I feel.
Im going to list what I think you guys might need to know in order to advise me, but please feel free to ask me for any other information and Ill get it. I live in the U.K and I genuinely do not have a lot of funds for this, probably around £150 at most.
So for the memory upgrade, I guess Id like to know if I should take whats in our and completely renew all slots but I guess you guys will know what Im talking about when I tell you what I have:
Motherboard: Gigabyte X58-USB3
Processor: Intel i7 960
64 bit Windows 10 - Operating System
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series
Memory: Slots 1, 3, & 5 have 2GB Corsair DDR3, XMP 1.2, Dual ranks, 667MHz. The other 3 slots are empty.
When I used the command prompt to ascertain the maximum capacity (wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity) it fed back:
5033168.
Again, whatever else you may need to advise me please just ask (you may need to advise how I get the info lol).
Any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated.
