I have a new Lenovo Gaming Laptop. The touchpad seems to completely stop working 1 day after installing the Steam gaming app.

The weird thing is, if uninstall Steam, I can re-boot as many times as I like that day and the touchpad is still dead. But turn the laptop on the next morning, and the touchpad magically works fine!

So I re-install Steam, no impact on the touchpad that day (even after rebooting), until the next morning when I turn the laptop on again and the touchpad is completely dead again. I tried re-installing drivers, even a full factory reset, nothing worked.

The laptop doesn't move so assuming no loose connection or hardware issue.

I sent it back for Warranty repair and they tell me they've replaced a part, but nothing has changed, I install steam and one day later no touchpad. Uninstall and a day later it is there again.

I don't want to send it back again for repair for them to do nothing again.

Can anyone explain this?

PS: I'm well aware of the function key to toggle on/off the touchpad, this does nothing when the touchpad is not working as explained above.

Part of the price you paid Lenovo is to fix or replace the laptop under their warranty. Make then get it right, or refund your money.
