I have a dell 16 gig ram, 2 terra hard drive,windows10 with a wireless logitech mouse and logitech keyboard.
However my keyboard cease to function (won't type numbers or letters; delete and enter keys also freeze up) after approx 15 minutes of going back and forth between excel and the internet.  Also a restart doesn't always fix the problem; sometimes I have to turn it off and let it sit for a minute or two before turning it back on. I don't know if I accidently did something stupid to a setting, picked up a virus or whether I am having sometype of equipment failure. This started about a week ago and I have no clue as how to fix it.  The only thing that I have noticed is that my hard drive seems to be working  an inordinate length of time on start up. It seems to rumble on and on for a few minutes when booting up. Will appreciate all the help I can get. Very frustrating issue.

Thanks.

Stupid question, but did you replace the batteries in the keyboard? If so, are they known good batteries. My logitech wireless doesn't give a warning on the screen but acts real funky when the batteries are going.

To determine keyboard or computer you could plug in a wired keyboard to check.

There are no stupid questions but yes I did replace the batteries twice.

I will try the reboot in safe mode tonight. I have a logitech wireless keyboard instead of a dell.

First I'd like to thank you for taking an interest in my problem.

I Read notes and comments from link.  Was going to restart in safe mode but instructions were not listed for Windows 10. As I'm not tech proficient I decided to wait for instructions from you on how to proceed.

Doing F8 and finding a menu that said:

Bootmode is set to LEGACY; Secure Boot: OFF

Legacy Boot

       Hitachi HUA72302ALA621

       USB Storage Device

       CD/DVD/CD-RW DRIVE

       Onboard NIC

Other Options:

        Bios Setup

        Diagnostics

Intel ® Management Engine Bios Extension (MEBx)

        Change Boot Mode Settings

Then at the bottom

OptiPlex 7010 ................ Bios Revision A16...........................Dell Inc
