wifes laptop from Thailand is lagging and slow

Speedtest is 109 on the laptop and -120 mbps on my laptop farther from router. Wife's is 10' above a Tennant's wifi. I'm not sure if she is the unnamed one? I have had issues with my mesh in the past. Just usually a sync issue. But last time 2 months ago here was a interference wifi. EROS techs x3 told me I had to find it. All they could give me was chipset maker of the device. It was funny issue. My phone S9+ was mostly affected. While wife's phone and my laptop were fine. I told them they need to fix it. Luckily it resolved itself. I thought usually I'm on channel 1 at 2.4 ghz. Is it 128 on 5?

It is running much better. Let me go do your next suggestions.

THe page faults seem to go from a bunch to fewer with a different list and back. I will run it again for 20 seconds and post that as this was much longer. . _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Very strange. The laptop may be slower than I've ever seen since the fix ran for an hour and timed out. I've never had it time out before. Of the two tests it did get through one of them completed OK but it doesn't appear to have started on the second test. I ran the fix on my PC and it finished in 8 minutes (I have an SSD and a clean 200 MB internet connection.)

Let's get a benchmark - that may tell us which component is dragging us down:

Benchmark says the Hard drive is the bottleneck. It's a Seagate which is bottom of the line but shouldn't be that bad. If you replaced it with an SSD (I recommend Samsung EVO but they are rather expensive at $135 so I always wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday to buy them) you would have a really quick laptop especially if you add another 4K of RAM.

It's possible that the drive may just need defragging (they call it Optimizing these days). Search for

optimize

hit Enter

That should bring up the Optimize Drive window. Select the C: drive and hit Optimize. It will take a while to complete. When it does you can rerun the benchmark and see if that helped.

Also the benchmark complains about the RAM and suggests "Ensure that the top XMP BIOS profile is enabled" but I doubt that a DELL Bios has that option but it wouldn't hurt to look. Sometimes all it really needs is for the RAM to be removed and reinstalled.
