I have tried two microphones and they won't record with Voice Recorder or Vegas. How can I fix this?

 

EDIT-The New Mic turns off my speakers when its plugged in, how do I fix this?

Maybe try this procedure if yiu have not yet,

 

 

1. Type Troubleshooting in the search box and hit enter.
2. Click on Troubleshooting tab.
3. Click on View all option on the upper left corner.
4. Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
5. Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.
