Hello,

I am an iphone newby, I hate smart phones, and don't trust them. However, I find myself in need of one anyway, unfortunately.

I purchased one cheap, used, and in good shape.

I turned it on, I wanted to poke around in the settings for a bit, factory reset it etc before connecting to my wifi (I don't want to connect it with a carrier, I just need to use it with the wifi).

However, it asks me to select my country and language, and then it asks me to connect to wifi. Is there anyway to pass this screen? I wanted to look at privacy settings and factory reset the phone first, just to be safe, before I connected to the wifi.

Does anyone know how to look at settings before connecting to wifi initially? Since this is a used phone I bought from someone I don't know, does anyone know of anything that needs to be done to it to make sure it is safe to use?

It is an iphone 7.

Thanks.

To do a factory reset using buttons, hold down the Volume Down button on the left side of the device and the Sleep/Wake button on the right side of the device at the same time. Now, hold the buttons for approximately 10 seconds until the screen goes dark and an Apple logo will appear on the screen. Release the buttons and wait while you iPhone restarts.
