Hi,

I opened a Word 2010 document and it opened in Word 2007 instead of 2010

I then decided to uninstal Word 2007 once and for all.

When the computer rebooted and I clicked on the Word 2010 document and I got the message, see attached

Help.

Regards

Do you get the same message when you try to open the file from inside Word 2010?

Assuming you have Win 10:

Open File Explorer, right click on the file and select Open With, Choose another App.  Point it at Word 2010, check the box that says "Always Use this App..."

Alternatively if you know the extension (.doc or .docx or ?), Settings, Apps

 Default Apps

Set your Default Programs

Scroll down to Choose Default Apps by File Type.

Scroll down to the extension and Choose a default (if you have the option)

Point it at Word 2010

If it says Word 2007 instead then click on that and then choose Word 2010.

Hi RKinner,

Works like a charm now.

I did notice that some were DOCX and some were DOC but after doing the Open With trick all the other files opened.

Thank you for your time and help

Regards
