I'm glad the tips above helped you. That's the purpose. To become a bit wiser than before.

You are going to talk with Microsoft? Not the company you bought the computer???

Again, your help is much appreciated.  Any way I may be able to assist you, anything you can think of, just let me know via email.  If you don't have my address perhaps you could get in touch with me via this site.

You are very very welcome, Karolion. Your satisfaction is the best gift for me now. :)

Take care!

I expected to need to talk to Microsoft and Lenovo today, I just forgot to mention Lenovo.  I was a bit frazzled after spending five hours on the phone and not getting very far.  I spoke to a representative at Lenovo today and she is going to work on resolving the issue.  Speaking to her actually provided a bit of entertainment as I could hear a rooster crowing in the background just as I was about to explain my problem to her and it was hard for me to concentrate on what I wanted to say.  At least twice just as I was starting to speak I could hear him and he must have been close by because he was loud.  I mentioned it to her and she explained she was working from home.  I had already worked that one out though, lol.

Hi.

Any news? Have you solved the license issue, Karolion? (I hope the rooster didn't spoil the discussion again!   )

Not yet.  I'm not overly optimistic for a resolution to the situation this week with the upcoming holiday.  I followed up with the Lenovo customer service representative via email this morning but haven't received a response.  A lot of people take the most of, if not the entire, week off since the holiday falls on Thursday.  I suppose it's a game of patience for the time being.

Since you bought the computer from them and you have the ticket with what you bought, they owe to explain to you.

Happy Thanksgiving. :)

Thanks for the holiday wishes.  I just saw a notification that my computer needs to restart for a Windows update but my computer restarted when I updated Windows a few days ago.  It also poses the question of switching to Windows 11 but I'm not keen to do that unless it's absolutely necessary.  Do you have any thoughts on the subject?  This is an image of the notification... https://www.dropbox....update.png?dl=0

You have to restart the computer for the new update to get completely installed.

As for Windows 11, since the laptop is new, it will probably be able to run it. You can check anyway. There are people who say to wait, others have already upgraded. Windows 10 will be supported until 2025, so no hurry. Personally, I upgraded one of my two computers. It's a new experience, and as a new experience some time is needed to get used of it. It's up to you if you will proceed. In any case, you have to back up your personal data. Although the procedure is safe, you never know.
