Ok, I needed to run some rather old software. It will not run on 8/8.1.   I dug out an HP Compaq 7600 which has XP Home SP1 on it.  The software I wanted runs fine, however I wanted to try load some other stuff like SP3 and I keep getting Clock is ahead errors. I 1st set the time/zone manually, did not work. I then set it to sync to a time server. Clock on the PC is now spot on.  I have tried clearing cache , browsing history to no avail, CMOS battery is still good.  This problem leads to the next issue. I have some software that runs on everything, however on this machine it will not run due to a Cannot find entry point abd refers to KERNEL32   I see there are fixes on line but I cannot access the sites until I fix the clock error
