Hi all,

 

I have some new bluetooth headphones that I'd like to use with my pc.

 

Am I right in thinking that I can pair them with my pc?

 

I've tried but it's not working out.

 

Bluetooth doesn't appear in my action centre, so can I assume it's switched off?

 

The strange thing is that in devices, the pc recognises my bluetooth television, so I think it has bluetooth capabilities of some sort.

 

It has also told me that I can't connect because my pc doesn't support 'Miracast'.

 

I'm wondering if I can download some software to solve the problem but I'm worried about getting something from a dodgy source.

 

Would appreciate some Christmas help.

I tried following those instructions but when I got to the 'Bluetooth & other devices' screen, there was nothing to toggle (see screen print attached).

 

Is there something I'm not seeing?

I don't have any information on who manufactured the computer but I do see your point about installing the driver.

 

What worries me is downloading something from the internet that's full of software (/malware) that I don't want.

When I tried to upload a screen shot before, the site barred me from uploading png and jpg files.

 

What formats can I use?

You need to provide information about the computer, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the motherboard, providing these details will enable folk to better assist you.

I've opened up device manager (see jpg attached) and I can't find a Bluetooth section - which suggests it doesn't have the necessary hardware? I'm surprised as it does pick up my television.

 

Anyway, I don't have any information on the manfacturer but the motherboard is an MSI product H97M-G43 (MS-7924).

If you have a smart TV and you also have a wireless router that will detect the smart TV.

 

Specs for your MB here do not list BT as being present.

So if I understand correctly, there needs to be some hardware on the motherboard to accommodate the bluetooth i.e. I can't just install some software to solve the problem?

Not that easy I`m afraid, you will need a BT dongle like the examples here
