THanks again Loophole. I tried what you said- I could not open Nailfix, it said it was a corrupted file, I then ran ewido in safe mode and Hijack this. There was no entry for the 04-HKCU that you listed but I did fix check the other two entries. Here are the logs; THanks again, SLM

Hello SLM ;)

Ok some of this will seem repetitive but Ewido isnt Quite doing its job.We will give this one more try with some twist. Then we will have to go to alternate methods.Bear with me and give this one more shot. We will get it :tazz:

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] C:\WINDOWS\system32\hmrukj.exe reg_run
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CAS Client] "C:\Program Files\Cas\Client\casclient.exe"

Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the below service:

System Startup Service (SvcProc)

When you find them, double-click on each one. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok.

Run HiJackThis. Click on "None of the above, just start the program". Now, click on the "Config" button (bottom right), then click on "Misc Tools", then click on "Delete an NT Service" a window will pop up. Enter the below item into that field (copy and paste):

SvcProc

Click ok.

It should pull up information about the service, when it asks if you want to reboot now click YES.

Reboot into Safe mode(continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Please uninstall the following(if present) Click Start>>>control panel>>>add/remove
Cas ( could be Cas client)

Show Hidden Files and Folders (if needed)
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Using windows explorer( right click start, left click explore)
Search for and delete these files and folders
C:\Program Files\Cas
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hmrukj.exe

Now scan with Ewido and save the log

Rescan with hijack and check and fix the following

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

Now rehide files and folders

Reboot and post a new Hijack and the Ewido log

Hey SLm :tazz: ;)

Im sorry but the scan you ran with ewido wasnt set to scan all files. Note this line in the second to last Ewido report + Scanned Files: 121523 And then note the last Ewido scan + Scanned Files: 23. Ewido needs to be set to scan all files. This is very important. Im sorry but can you please follow the directions below and make sure Ewido is set to scan all files. Make sure you run that scan in safemode.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] C:\WINDOWS\system32\hmrukj.exe reg_run

Reboot into Safe mode(continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Now scan with Ewido and save the log

Rescan with hijack and check and fix the following

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

Now rehide files and folders

Reboot and post a new Hijack and the Ewido log

Thanks

Loophole- i tried to run things again, but for my hijack log, there is no 04-HKCU CAS Client to fix, and when i run services.msc there is no system startup service listed. Also, now icons for conficuration files (notefiles with a little wheel) are all over my desktop and in my music and picture folders??? What are these and how to I move them? Any help? THanks, SLM :tazz:

Please run this http://www.visualtou...oads/xp_fix.exe then

Please download FindQoologic from here
http://forums.net-in...=post&id=134981
Save it to the desktop and run Find-Qoologic2.bat. This will generate a log file; please post the entire contents of the log file here for me to see.

After you have posted this run this scan run this online virus scan:

Hello SLM ;)

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you.Lets go after the narrator infection :tazz:

Click here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit. Extract it from the zip file

Now open pocketkillbox Select the option "Delete on reboot".
Now highlight and 'copy' (Ctrl + C) the entire list of filepaths below:
Click 'File' on the killbox menu at the top and choose 'Paste from clipboard'
The entire list should now be in the "Full Path of File to Delete"
field. To check, click on the dropdown-arrow next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines should all be there.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\nurcepr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hmrukj.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\PSof1.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\rtnc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\alchem.???
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\setup.inf
C:\WINDOWS\ezsgodp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dobqcnb.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\inuvr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\nurcepr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SSK3_B5 Seedcorn 4.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wvpyq.dat

Then press the red button with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot, click YES.When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES.

Hey SLM :tazz:

I wish everybody had your patience
I think we may have made some progress. Do the following and we will find out.Hopefully we did then we can go after those Aurora popups

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.
