Hello hatkins,

its a fresh install of windows to.

Have you reinstalled the system drivers since the install and starting with the chipset drivers first.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

  1. In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
  2. In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
  3. Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Couple of things of note in Speccy that will affect overall performance and a couple that will affect internet performance as well.

RAM
4.00GB Single-Channel Unknown

Your RAM is only working at 50% of what it is capable of, run the Crucial system scanner tool here to see if you can add another stick which will give you dual channel.

Speed: 5400 RPM

Your HDD is the slowest SATA type drive that there is and unfortunately there is nothing that you can other than upgrade the drive to a 7200rpm or an SSD.

Antivirus
Windows Defender
Antivirus: Disabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date
Kaspersky
Antivirus: Enabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date

You have a third party AV when you really don`t need it, get rid of Zone Alarm as well, see the below;

Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and 11 come with an improved Windows Defender, it offers the same real-time anti-virus/anti-malware protection as Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows Defender also shares the same malware signature definitions as Microsoft Security Essentials, and Forefront Endpoint Protection. Technically, Microsoft Security Essentials has not been renamed Windows Defender, or combined with it in Windows 8, 8.1 and 10.

If any AV product that you have is a paid for version you should always make sure that you have a copy of the product key kept somewhere safe just in case you ever wish to reinstall it.

Once any other AV has been correctly uninstalled, check to see if Windows Defender has auto enabled and allow it to update and carry out a full scan of your computer.

Removal tool for Kaspersky here

ZoneAlarm removal info here

Once done, restart, test by using the computer as you normally, post back with an update when you are ready.

Run the Crucial system scanner tool at the link in my reply #4, make a note of what it reports then post the info here for us.

You will need to decide if you want to put the money into any upgrades and we can only give you guidance as to how to go about the upgrade/s.

Your present RAM is 2133MHz which means that any second stick will only run at 2133MHz, no point in paying for 3200MHz as it will be a waste of cash, the notebook has no dedicated GPU so will be not be great for gaming so I would only bother with adding another 4GB of RAM which would be more than enough for browsing, basic games and watching videos, the stick here will do.

Unless you are set on an SSD I would just upgrade the RAM for now seeing how you are already happy with the improvement in the present performance.
