Hello.

Do not forget this:

Percentage of memory in use: 95%
Total physical RAM: 12087.3 MB
Available physical RAM: 557.47 MB

The computer runs with a lack of RAM.

My suggestion for now is to completely uninstall any Avast product and check computer functionality again. If you want them, you can install them again later.

Avast One
Avast Secure Browser

To uninstall the above:

  • Download the Revo Uninstaller (Free Download) and save it on your Desktop.
  • Double click on the exe file created on your Desktop to run the installer, and follow the instructions to install the program.
  • Double click the program's icon to open it.
  • Write in the search area, on the top left, the following program:
Avast One
  • Choose the Uninstall tab from the menu and let the program to create a Restore point.
  • Choose Scan, and then the Advanced mode scan.
  • Select all the Avast items found, Delete and Next.
  • Let the procedure be completed and click on Finish.
  • Restart the computer.

Repeat the above procedure for Avast Secure Browser and restart the computer.

If you don't have any particular reason to keep them, also uninstall the following pre-installed software. I know that you chose to keep it before, but you may reconsider about it, especially if you don't need/use it:

Lenovo Diagnostics Tool
Lenovo Service Bridge
Lenovo Vantage Service

Please let me see fresh FRST logs after Avast (and Lenovo if you decide to do so) uninstallment. We will do another kind of check after that.

With the removal of Avast, what would you recommend I use for anti-virus?

Windows 10 has its own built-in antivirus, Windows/Microsoft Defender. That's why, you don't need to install any 3rd party antivirus. Many users report issues with 3rd party antivirus in Windows 10, but it's up to anyone what they want to install for their security. Having in mind your issues and the lack of RAM, I would go and uninstall Avast and stay with Defender. You have also Malwarebytes and these two can keep you safe, if, of course, you are following all the safe computing rules.

Hi, sorry for the delay -- busy AND Opera lost all my PWs upon reset, which it wasn't supposed to. (I tried a recover trick w/the Login Data [my info is STILL in that file -- I can see the login e-mails [the PWs are hidden obviously]) that didn't freakin' work...

Everything seems OK now. I didn't know that Windows' anti-virus was caught up to 3rd-party AV programs. Last I'd heard, on this site and a similar one (a few years ago, admittedly), MS's AV was terrible. But, OK, I'm happy to get rid of bloat and unnecessary apps.

Thank you!! You can close this. I really appreciate all of your help.

Hi.

I'm sorry to hear about your passwords issue.

See if the following links can help you:

[Solved]Password List Gone! | Opera forums

Restore old passwords from Users/partition backup - possible? | Opera forums

All passwords gone after migration to new Windows installation | Opera forums

If you uninstalled Avast products and/or other recommended in my previous post programs, it would be useful to post fresh FRST logs. Many times, there are remnants which need removal.

As this issue appears to be resolved, I'm marking it as Solved.
