Hello geeks,

I'd like to send a few large image files to a friend over the internet. So, I opened the 'Map network drive' in the 'Tools' tab in the Win explorer, where I typed "\\IP_address\g" . G:\ is a shared drive on my friend's computer. It is an external USB drive.

This did not work. What is the proper way to accomplish this? I don't want access to m friend's computer, just to be able to send a file,.

Thank you!

You can upload to OneDrive or Google Drive and give him the download link.

Thank you, FreeBooter, I use hightail.com periodically, but I want a direct PC to PC connection.

Connecting to share over internet with dynamic IP address will be hard to maintain as the IP address changes.

Thank you! This I understand. Do you know how "tech support" gets access to a simple user's PC, to fix something?
