What can be done to remedy a situation in which somebody gains access to your file sync service and then deletes all your files? I am wondering about only the following major providers: OneDrive, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, and Dropbox. Do any of them have recovery methods? Would be nice to have a reference point on Google for this situation for all these major providers. I am IT specialist and have a million clients who back up their data using one of these services instead of a true cloud backup. Thanks!

Hi,

Most of those services will keep the deleted data for some time but it will depend on the type of account! if provided by a School or Work the service Admin can restore the deleted data and its possible to adjust the data retention time.

Like anything they all have some type of a system where they back up that data. Eventually the backup gets backed up again which means it could be lost.
