Welcome to GTG.

Please print out the instructions here (or save it in Notepad) so that you can follow along more easily.

Download Ewido Security Suite at http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ and install it. Update to the newest definitions. If you have trouble updating, you may do it manually at http://www.ewido.net...wnload/updates/ Do NOT run the Ewido scan yet.

Please download Nailfix at http://www.noidea.us...050515010747824 Unzip it to the desktop but do NOT run it yet.

Right click on this link http://www.greyknigh...lO15Domains.inf and choose Save As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. It will run immediately (you won't be able to see anything happen). You may delete it afterwards.

Boot into Safe Mode by restarting and then hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work.

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Next run a full scan in Ewido. Save the log from the Ewido scan so that you can post it later.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Uninstall these from the Add/Remove panel if listed:

BullsEye Network
CashBack
WeirdOnTheWeb
Viewpoint

Delete these if found:

AUNPS2.DLL

C:\Program Files\CashBack\
C:\Program Files\CdmFiles\
C:\Program Files\CdmFiles\
C:\Program Files\htwu\

C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvms.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat12.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ztoolb001.dll
C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe

Do a search for ??xplore.exe and right click on any of the files found. Go to Properties->Version tab and see if it's from Microsoft. Do this for each file found. If it's not from Microsoft (or doesn't even have a version tab) and it was created recently, then delete it.

Restart your computer.

Download FindIt's.zip http://forums.net-in...=post&id=142443 to your desktop.

1. Unzip/extract the files inside to a folder on your desktop.
2. Open the folder. Double click on FindIt's.bat and wait for Notepad to open a text file. It will take a while so please be patient... Note: If you are having problems using FindIt's.bat (16 bit error), copy autoexec.nt from the C:\WINDOWS\repair folder to C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder. Now try running FindIt's.bat.
3. Then post the results here along with the new HijackThis log. Also post the Ewido scan results here.

Do this also:

Download L2MFix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts. Then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening. After a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 or any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Make sure your antivirus program is turned off during the Ewido scan. Try again.

Please print out the instructions here (or save it in Notepad) so that you can follow along more easily.
Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing Enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2MFix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Save that log (we'll need it later).

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ and delete aurora
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ and delete mfiltis
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\ and delete ZepMon
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Monitors\ and delete ZepMon

If any of the above registry keys are giving you problems deleting, right click on them and click on Permissions. Then click on the Advanced button. Make sure the first box (Inherit from parent...) is checked. Click OK and OK. Then try deleting the entry again. Once you're done, close the Registry Editor.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

4. Also post the L2MFix log you saved earlier.

Let's try this again. I just want to make sure, are you doing this in Safe Mode and is your antivirus off during this scan? Go into Symantec and disable the real-time protection during the scan here. Enable it back when you are done.

If is still freezes, just continue on and tell me it froze again. We'll have to take another approach if that's the case.

Run L2MFix again. Choose option #4 this time. You may close it. Do the below:

Please print out the instructions here (or save it in Notepad) so that you can follow along more easily.

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ and delete it aurora
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\ and delete it ZepMon
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Monitors\ and delete it ZepMon

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Go to Start->Run and type in cmd and hit OK. Then type in each of the following (hit Enter after each line):

sc stop moto
sc delete moto
exit

Delete these if found:

c:\windows\system32\nczvneg.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll
C:\WINDOWS\stchost.exe
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\PJLNJG~1.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\MSCLOC~1.DLL

Not sure why Ewido is freezing. Had a couple users with that problem. We're looking into it and I will reply back once we have an update on why this is happening.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Right click on this link http://www.greyknigh...lO15Domains.inf and choose Save As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. It will run immediately (you won't be able to see anything happen). You may delete it afterwards.

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ and delete aurora

If any of the above registry keys are giving you problems deleting, right click on them and click on Permissions. Then click on the Advanced button. Make sure the first box (Inherit from parent...) is checked. Click OK and OK. Then try deleting the entry again. Once you're done, close the Registry Editor.

Download Process Explorer from http://www.sysintern...ssExplorer.html

Run Process Explorer and find qwuycy.exe in the list of Processes.
Select the process and click Process > Suspend.

Then in HijackThis click Config > Misc Tools > Delete a file on reboot...
In the explorer Window select the file c:\windows\system32\qwuycy.exe
When prompted if you want to reboot click YES
Leave Process explorer running with the process suspended.

After the reboot check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O2 - BHO: Band Class - {01F44A8A-8C97-4325-A378-76E68DC4AB2E} - C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {2CDE1A7D-A478-4291-BF31-E1B4C16F92EB} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [folomj] c:\windows\system32\qwuycy.exe r
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Win Server Updt] C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
O15 - Trusted IP range: 67.19.178.84
O15 - Trusted IP range: 67.19.178.84 (HKLM)
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Delete these:

[b]c:\windows\system32\qwuycy.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll
C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Try running Ewido again and see if it freezes.

Restart and post a new HijackThis and FindIt's log.

We'll have to take another approach until we figure out the Ewido problem.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Download KillBox at http://www.atribune....ads/KillBox.exe
Download and install CleanUp at http://cleanup.stevengould.org/ (or at http://www.greyknigh...spy/CleanUp.exe if the main link doesn't work).

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible also. Please make sure system restore is enabled by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and make sure that System Restore is enabled (box should be unchecked). Once you're clean we will turn this off and then create a new restore point.

Close out all open windows and disconnect the computer from any internet access.

1. Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ and delete aurora
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\ and delete ZepMon
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Monitors\ and delete ZepMon

If any of the above registry keys are giving you problems deleting, right click on them and click on Permissions. Then click on the Advanced button. Make sure the first box (Inherit from parent...) is checked. Click OK and OK. Then try deleting the entry again. Once you're done, close the Registry Editor.

2. Go to Start->Run and type in services.msc and hit OK. Then look for 'System Startup Service (SvcProc)' and double click on it. Click on the Stop button and under Startup type, choose Disabled.

3. Run the CleanUp program you just installed and when prompted to reboot/logoff select NO.

4. Run KillBox. Go to Tools > Delete Temp Files > Click *OK* Copy and paste the following locations into KillBox one at a time. Checkmark the box that says 'Delete on Reboot' and checkmark the box 'Unregister DLL' (If available) Click the red circle with the white X and it will ask you to confirm the file for deletion, say YES and when the next box opens prompting you to reboot now...click NO...and proceed with the next file. Once you get to the last one click NO when it asks you to reboot.

**Note** Don't let KillBox reboot the computer...Reboot manually after the fixes for the HijackThis (see below).

C:\Windows\svcproc.exe
C:\Windows\Nail.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\NPEGEW.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\PJLNJG~1.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SVCPROC.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\TDTB.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\DRPMON.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll
C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe

5. Go to Start->Run and type in cmd and hit OK. Then type in each of the following (hit Enter key after each line):

cd windows
nail.exe /FullRemove
exit

6. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

7. Reboot the computer now. Reconnect your internet access and post another FindIt’s log and HijackThis log. Again, try not to restart or shutdown during this time until you do the fixes that I will give you.

I asked others to take a look at this. Ewido has to run in this case. Let's see what the other staff members' suggestions are to this. I'll get back as soon as I get word from them.

OK, I just want to make sure of this first since it looks like we are going around in circles here. Are you following the instructions precisely as posted here? If there is anything you don't understand, please ask me. Leaving out any of those steps might mean redoing this over and over again.

For Ewido, did you get the updates and installed them in Normal Mode? Then run scan in Safe Mode?

Ignore the part about not shutting your computer down until it's fixed. You may shut it down if you want. It was an older fix that I was using previously.

For all these Ewido scans, when it froze your computer, does it matter what file or folder it's scanning? See if it has a pattern when it's freezing. For example, does it freeze on a specific file or a specific folder?

Make sure you do all the fixes here in Safe Mode.

Please print out the instructions here (or save it in Notepad) so that you can follow along more easily.

Download FxWebsch, but don't run it yet.

Download KillBox http://www.greyknigh...spy/KillBox.exe. Don't run it yet.

Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. Once it's done, you may click the Close button. When asked if you want to logoff, choose No.

Go to Start->Run and type in services.msc and hit OK. Then look for System Startup Service (SvcProc) or SvcProc and double click on it. Click on the Stop button and under Startup type, choose Disabled.

Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc Tools->Delete an NT Service button and type in SvcProc and hit OK to delete that service.

Go to Start->Run and type in cmd and hit OK. Type in the following (hit Enter after each new line):

sc stop SvcProc
sc delete SvcProc
exit

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://websearch.drs...esearch.cgi?id=
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://websearch.drs...esearch.cgi?id=

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Win Server Updt] C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - c:\windows\SvcProc.exe

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. Copy the below files and go back to KillBox. Go to File->Paste from Clipboard and then hit the button with a red circle and white X. Confirm to delete and when asked if you want to reboot, say no:

c:\windows\system32\dpgfhp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll
C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
c:\windows\SvcProc.exe

Run FxWebsch now.
