i can surf the web but not...

since i got my computer back from having xp installed i can't send or receive mail through outlook, use agent newsgroup reader, use bittorrent, and winmx.
i talked for two hours to my dsl provider and everything is set-up right but when they ping me i block it. firewall it turned off on my system. i don't have sp2.
please help!
mike
