I have done everything in the "do this before posting your log" and ran all the necessary scans. My computer started acting up with random pop-ups of Aurora windows, then I'd get these shortcuts on my desktop leading to Casino game websites, I'd get a window saying that PCTools is asking to sign online from time to time.
Now that I ran all the tools you listed, I think I got rid of the aurora windows and the short cuts poping up on my desktop. However, I'm not sure if I got rid of the Dr.Pmon.dll or the PCTools. Here is my Hijack This Log perhaps you can give me some good news about it! :tazz:

This is an awesome website and I have learned so much from reading the forums. You guys rock!

Thanks for the reply! I still need your help! I am still stuck with Aurora.
I ran the recommended tools listed on your site twice now and I think I managed to clean out most of the malware, all except Aurora, I still get the pop up Aurora windows.

My Norton Antivirus program would alert me that it finds Trojan Horse but is unable to fix it. These are the trojan horse Norton finds.
1) C:\Windows\System32\xzsjgb.exe
2) C:\Windows\System32\mrliak.exe
3) C:\Windows\System32\dviwwi.exe

In addition to Spybot and adaware, I also used SpyDoctor. I have not yet downloaded the Windows SP2 patch, otherwise my window's update is pretty up to date.

After I ran all the tools a second time, I rebooted and ran HijackThis and this is the Log. Hope you can help me out. Thanks.

Hi DataNully

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm
O9 - Extra button: SideStep - {3E230861-5C87-11D3-A1C6-00105A1B41B8} - C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\SbCIe028.dll
O16 - DPF: {640B39C1-D713-464F-92C3-75BD972B95EE} - http://download.side...00719/sb028.cab

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.
Run killbox and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. Paste the file's one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.
The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\SbCIe028.dll
C:\Windows\System32\xzsjgb.exe
C:\Windows\System32\mrliak.exe
C:\Windows\System32\dviwwi.exe
Let the system reboot.

Please run the following free, online virus scans.

Okay.

I set the system to show all files, rebooted in safe mode, fix checked the files using HJT, and ran the Pocket KillBox.

I rebooted the system and am in the process of the panda scan.

There is one thing that gives me a headache. I am trying not to use the explorer browser but I can't use the panda scan using my netscape browser. So in order to scan with PandaSoftware, I opened up my explorer browser. In the middle of scanning, I see Aurora PopUp Windows!

Did I miss a step or do something wrong prior to the panda scan?

I will post again when the virus scan is complete and post the logs you requested.

The Panda ActiveScan is complete and man did it take a long time.
Since I used the explorer browser to use the ActiveScan, I got several Aurora PopUp windows during the scan.

Hi DataNully

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
Download nails.cmd fix
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch and delete all the files in that folder.

Now run the nails.cmd fix

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://websearch.drs...esearch.cgi?id=

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure all are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Run killbox and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.
The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

Quick question, will the Ewido conflict with the Norton Antivirus I already have? Do I need to uninstall my Norton first?

I am running into a problem with Ewido when I'm in safe mode. The Ewido window would be fuzzy on screen and I can't read anything.

When using Killbox, after I enter a full path name and click on the red circle with the white cross in it and I click no when asked to reboot. When I enter the next full path name, does the first one get erased? Or do I just put a space and continue to type the next full path name?

I may have done something incorrect when using killbox. After I typed in the last file and clicked yes for reboot. I got message saying :"Pending File Rename Operations Registry Data has been removed by external process."

Any ideas?

In the mean time I will try the instructions you gave a 2nd time. I will post the logs if I don't run into any further problems.

::Report End

That's all I have for now. I'm trying to run the Panda scan but it always takes a very long time. I actually finished one scan but I couldn't access the report afterwards. All I know right now is that the Active Scan detected 1 thing. I'm taking that 1 thing as good news actually. I'm running a new Activescan, I will post the log once it's done.

Panda Active scan found 0 viruses!
I hope that's the end of the Aurora nightmare.
Please let me know if the Ewido and HJT logs are clean as well!

I will cross my fingers and hope that you will have good news for me as well.

I realized that the PCtools is the SpyDoctor program so I guess we can cross that off our list of things to destroy.
I haven't had any Aurora PopUps when I used explorer to run the latest Panda Active Scan. Hope the latest HJT logs confirms that my PC is now clean.
Once you give the okay, I'm going to update Windows with the SP2 packet.
Then after that, if you have any suggestions on how to help make my PC startup quicker, I'm all ears! Maybe that's another thread entirely.

When I go to "Add or Remove Programs" I still see that ABI - A Division of Direct Revenue listed. I'm not sure what that means but I hope you can tell me.

Happy 4th!
