Everytime i try and run The Sims 2, its says im runnin a CD/DVD emulator program. As far as i know, the only program that i have that will even do that is CloneCD, and i havent used that in ages.

I was wondering if you guys had any ideas to what the deal might be.

Thanks for whatever

the Sims 2 is a very demanding game on your computer; it needs specific requirements or else it wont run at all (especially if there is not enough ram)

make sure you have at least the following minimum requirements below:

SIMS 2 - PC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

CD ROM: 16X
CPU Speed: 933MHz
CPU Type: Intel Pentium III
Disk Space: 2.0GB -- very important
Display: 64MB AGP Video Card And ATI Radeon 8500 Pro or NVIDIA GeForce 3 Cards
Memory (RAM): 256MB -- very important
Operating System Compatibility: Win98/ME/2000/XP, -->Not Mac Compatible<--

I had the same problem
Have you uninstalled CloneCD?

Because otherwise a message will pop up and stop the game from running

That did it. I couldnt find anywhere where CDclone was runnin in the background, but once i uninstalled it, Sims ran.

Lol, i dont really play it, but my gf like to fix up and decorate the houses, and if that keeps here busy, while i play Xbox, then i have to say the game is worth it.

LOL, i hope she doesnt see this.
