Can any one help me?

I read the post about this topic and did the malware scan and virus scans
I went through all the steps but I still have a black screen for my desktop and all the scans and checks say that my system is clean .

I even have a Hijackthis log to post if some one can help me.
I went in to control panel to change desktop and the display will only allow for me to change the screen resolution of the screen saver not the desk top

I am tired of looking at the black background with the yellow letters

any help would be great

by the sounds of it you have the smitfraud infection.

Please post your hijack this log in our malware removal forum and I will personally take a look at it for you.

If u are not able to change the display settings by right-clicking on the desktop or from control panel, u can try start->run and:

Display Properties (Background):
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,,0

Display Properties (Screen Saver):
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,,1

Display Properties (Appearance):
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,,2

Display Properties (Settings):
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,,3
