Depending on your motherboard, there is a limit as to how much RAM it will take. If it is in the limits, it should recognize it automatically.

my mobo have 3 slots, 2 is occupied and 1 is left out. what happen if doesnt recongize it?

it should recognize it no problem, but if it doesnt for some reason, post back here with info on your motherboard and the ram.

Ye, it should be fine to install more RAM, if not, then there should be a cd with it (Dunno, never installed more RAM?)

Random acsess memory.. installed in slots that located inside the comp near the motherboard.

Good.. Now, why would you need a cd to install it with when it is CMOS/BIOS that is used to recognize it ??
Also, it is installed ON the motherboard not "near the motherboard"..

err.. one problem, i got 3 slots, one of them is blue? all the others are black what does it mean?

Probably means it takes a different type of memory..
Do you not have your manual for the system??

ok, that is likely indicating you board is capable of dual channel ram configs. please list your mobo make/model, along with what ram you are using.
if it is a dual channel config, that changes things in terms of how you want to install, or even if you want to install a 3rd stick.
post back the info, so we can check it out and explain it if you dont understand.

Windows XP recognises it strate away if you have inserted it wrong then obviously ent gunna work MEMORY is the easiest to fit i fitted over 50 pc's i do it all the time so good luck anyway

I've done it before... it should work unless your motherboard maxes out at 1 GB... My new one has 6 slots and maxes out at 4GB... <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
