I need some help with the blue wall of death. It hit me on 21/06/05 and my ativir remover is not effective. I am unable to run spybot as I keep getting "this program has performed an illegal function" All the remedies I have downloaded have not installed, I get the same "illegal function" error. I have managed to install HiJackThis and have a log. I also merged the registry on "Smitfraud" as advised on your blogs. Once that was done I went looking for the "Search Maid, Virtual Maid, Log files and Security Guard files" but cant find them in my pc. I now have my desktop back without the "security warning" message and am able to change my backround again. My control panel is also back to normal and I can access my once again visible tab buttons. The problem is I cant open my system helper programs, like my anti-virus and spybot. I am not sure what this trojan does? I had a problem registering with you as the nearest country to me is South Africa which I chose, Im in Zimbabwe though. Will check in at this site from time to time to see if you can advise me.
