CNN recently switched from a fee-based video service which used RealPlayer, to a free video service which uses WMP. Now I can't get the videos to work. The player opens and sometimes will play the add but never the story. Most of the time, something will flash quickly in the player and then it is done. I tried turning off my firewall and turning off pop-up blocker. Help!!!

I am having the same problem with the MSN video service.

Yes, I have version 9 installed. I have checked and it appears that I meet all the software and hardware requirements. I know it's there, because sometimes the ad plays, but not the news story. I have another PC in the house that uses DSL (mine is on cable modem) and I can view the videos just fine.

Its obviously a tech issue with media play, reinstall 10, and see if it works

Could it be my ISP is blocking this?

Probably not. The ISP shouldn't block what you wanna see.. (If it dose you need a new one.)

I use 10 and can acsess any video on CNN, try 10.

I just installed version 10 and went back into try to view a video. The very first one I tried I was able to see, but when I clicked on a second one, it did the same thing - the timer at the bottom went from 0:00 to 0:02 and then back to 0:00 like it was trying to play something and then couldn't. It's almost like something is 'full'.

I'll try messing with it agaom tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

I think I just got it fixed!!! I went into my settings for Temporary Internet files. I had the space allowed for temporary internet files set to almost nothing. I bumped this up and now everything is working file!!!

As always, sometimes just talking it through solves the problem...

Thanks!
