I downloaded Sygat free firewall. It seems to really do a good job of blocking/notifying of incoming and outgoing traffic. Problem is, it asks to allow or block when something is coming in or trying to go out, and half the time I really have no idea just what it is that is accessing the system, or trying to access the internet. Kernels and dlls and CWShredder keeps popping up as being a Critical threat. (Shredder is on my desktop, but i havent used it since the other day when cleaning out the pc due to that smitfraud trouble).
I backtrack the threats and even with the ip address and location I still dont know what most of these are. Is it possible to post a copy of part of the log and get some idea of what/who these things are?
Any help would be appreciated.
