bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin
Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Reboot your PC.

I just restarted my computer again and the blue screen appeared then my nortons became disabled. Any ideas.

Can you get into your PC at all before the blue screen appears?

no I can not.
The computer goes to blue screen right after i boot it up. This is happening quite often. Do I need tto just do a complete restore?

Put xp disc in drive, when you get to setup screen choose to install windows xp, press F8 at next screen to agree, and then press "R" at next screen and do a repair installation. This will reinstall windows, but keep all of your data. You will then need to reinstall all windows updates.

I tried to repair the windows XP and I got a message that said that this disk is older then the one on the computer and would not let me install or anything else.

Any other ideas. Do I need to bite the bullet and restore the whole computer?

I really don't want to do this, but if it is what it takes.

ok I did what you said I was able to change the bios in the computer to cdrom boot. Now the computer is telling me first I have -: Partition1 [fat] 24mb < 4 mb free Second it says C: Partition2 <notebook> [NTFS] 28592 MB <10472 MB Free> I chose the second one and this is what it said.

Thepartition or the unpartitioned space you selected is to small for windows xp. Select a partition orunpartitioned space of at least 980 meg.

This does not make nay sense to me. How about you guys.

Is it because the second is ntfs and not fat?
