I'm trying to upgrade my parents slow [bleep] HDD to a WD 40GB 7200RPM. I've hooked it up as a slave for the time being and Windows "claims" that it recognizes the HDD. However, when I go into My Computer...I only see the one slow Master HDD.

When I go into Device Manager, I can clearly see both HDD and am capable of disabling the new one. And When I run Add New Hardware and select the new HDD, it "claims" that the device is working properly...

Have you partitioned and formatted the drive yet? You haven't told us what operating system you're using so we can't know what procedure you need to follow to install it. If it's a new drive load the CD into your computer and read the instructions that came with it before you do anything drastic. We'll be glad to help. :tazz:
