error 426 octet stream cutting off downloads

Losing downloads when about 1/3rd done, and getting "error 426" usually with something about an octet stream. Problem happens only on my laptop, other home network computer is OK. Both running Firefox.

Any suggestions?

does this occur in other browsers? This is a very low level data communcation error.

I would uninstall firefox and reinstall it
