This was my last hjt scan. Have I missed anything important? Is there anything I should be noticing?

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP, or Service Pack 4 if you are running Win2k. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.

Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

Thanks, but I'm gonna be hard-headed and fix the display issues in 2000 pro first, then reinstall XP Pro (with up-to-date service packs which I have saved to CD.) My 56k modem takes too long for "casual" 17mb downloads at 55 minutes per.
That log was from XP, before the surge that wiped me out and made me install 2000 pro (corrupted xp disk)

Be Back to tackle this later, though!
