Please note the Mcafee services were disabled entirely prior to NAV installation.
(I didn't have time to find current manual removal instructions for the Mcafee)

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.

computer was infected with a virus that didn't delete as easily as symantecs security advisory implied. I actually already tryed what you suggested, but the installation was incomplete due to the virus locking up an IE dll. I had to run the recovery console to chkdsk /r it, in order for it to boot after the service pack attempt. I got the valued files backed up and the computer reformated, and set up. including sp2.

Thanks for you help though. Sorry time was spent on me. :tazz:
